Prop 28 in Our School
This year, SRACS has been able to use Proposition 28 funding to strengthen student access to the arts. Funds were allocated to support a 0.2 FTE certificated Art Teacher, expanding opportunities for students to engage in visual arts. In addition, Prop 28 funds were used to help sustain and enhance our music program, ensuring that students continue to have access to high-quality instruction in this area.
The impact of these investments has already been visible on campus. Students now have more consistent opportunities for creative expression, and enrollment in both art and music remains strong. These programs not only build artistic skills but also contribute to student engagement, confidence, and a positive school climate.
Ensuring that plans are built upon feedback from our stakeholders has been a crucial aspect of planning how to use the Prop 28 funds. Looking ahead, the Site Council will continue to review the use of Prop 28 funds to ensure they are maximizing student opportunities and supporting equitable access to the arts for all students.
