After-School Activites

At SRACS, the dismissal time is 1:45 pm on Mondays and 2:45 pm Tuesday through Friday. Students should be picked up promptly from school at the scheduled dismissal time unless they are participating in one of the following after-school activities. If students are not picked up after 15 minutes of dismissal time, they must proceed to the shade structure and wait for their pick-up. Supervision is NOT provided after school.

Academic Workshop

Tuesdays 2:50 - 4:00 pm, Room 77s and 78

SRACS teachers assist students with homework during this optional program. No prior registration is needed, and students can participate as needed. Homework Help does not meet on minimum days.

 

Music
Music Karate 

Tuesdays 2:50- 4:00 Band Room
Students have the opportunity to earn Karate "Belts" (Zip ties attached to their instrument cases) for passing off on different instrument techniques and music.   Ms. Boulais will be pulling kids from Academic Workshop to participate.  

 

Mathcounts
Math Counts - 24/25 starting date TDB

Usually Fridays 4:00 - 5:00 pm

Love math? Math Counts is a space where learning math is fun, social, and supportive. We inspire curiosity and build confidence in students of all levels. High school student coaches do teaching of math topics as mini-lessons followed by deliberate practice.

Lego Robotics

Room 77
Lego Robotics is offered once a week with our charter school founder, Mr. Williams.  The course is designed to be both fun and challenging.  Students will learn the fundamentals of engineering and build problem-solving, math, and communication skills.   Opportunities to compete in County competitions are possible.

OM teams are formed in the Fall- and students meet throughout the year to work on the OM challenges.  In the Spring, teams compete with other local teams with the potential of going to state, national or international competitions.  We are currently seeking Parents to serve as Coaches for the 22/23 school year.   Please visit the OM   website for more information and how to get involved.

Boys basketball in the Fall and Girls basketball in the Spring

Teams practice two or thee days a week and then participate in the Nifty Niners League, playing against other teams in the area, usually 8-10 games.  Home games are played in the RVMS gym.  In 2021/22. The Boys Team came in second in the league and the Girls were First!  Go Phoenix!

CHESS FOR KIDS is dedicated to bringing the benefits of chess to as many young people as possible in Sonoma & Napa Counties.  Throughout the year, students meet once a week for lessons and a chance to play chess.  Instruction is differentiated for all levels.  At the end of the year, students have a chance to compete in a county competition.  

                                           

Additional after school clubs and activities vary each school year depending on student interest and involvement.
